Jennifer is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition; Sam is the Executive Director of BikeSD. We were all chiming in on a recent Facebook thread Sam started which prompted this conversation today.

Both women work to bring greater awareness and political clout to bicycle safety and infrastructure issues in their vast geographic areas.

As you know, LA County is made up of 88 cities and San Diego is a large sprawling metropolis, too. Climate-wise, all of Southern California has it made and so the region should be enjoying a much higher bicycle mode-share, but the car is king in California and that’s where this morning’s discussion begins…
