Pedego Electric Bikes’ Don DiCostanzo

Aging Baby Boomers make for a big fat market opportunity for electric bikes and Don DiCostanzo is well positioned to exploit this opportunity. He's the founder of Pedego Electric Bikes based in Fountain Valley, California and they're growing about as fast as any company can. But is it the market size, the demographics, the rolling hills across much of California, or the popularity of all bikes right now? Don would say it's because the bikes are fun to ride. There's a lot more to ... Continue Reading

Martha Roskowski, the Green Lane Project

Are you creating new bike infrastructure for the one percent? That's what most cities do as they begin to move from planning to implementation. To get more people out of their cars and riding bikes, you've gotta build the right infrastructure. If Memphis can do it, certainly it can be done in your home town. That's the goal of the Green Lane Project which Martha Roskowski runs — showing the world how to build safer bike infrastructure. The Green Lane Project is part of People ... Continue Reading

I knew right then I had to get her on the show. It would be Jeff Miller at the Alliance who would make the introduction. San Francisco is a Gold-level Bicycle Friendly ... Continue Reading

In case I don't get to attend, here's what I'd like to say...   Tonight you must decide on a Bike Safety Improvement Fund. How did we get here? Last month it’s the death of 2 women on bikes. The entire community is shaken – people demand safer conditions for cyclists. This month it’s record high gas prices. Makes me wonder what ... Continue Reading

Lots of Looking

I've been looking for things lately. Yesterday it was cameras — I have too many, but this specific search was focused on a particular tripod. Once I found the tripod I had to find the little camera-to-tripod attachment gizmo. You get the idea. All this searching is for the sequel to the Riding Into Trouble video. Today my wife and I are looking for the extra car key — imagining the day our teen loses his key, I guess. Still haven't found the key, but I did stumble across this ... Continue Reading
